Founded in Cowboy Country, the
focus of The Open Box K Corriente Cattle Company LLC,
is raising top quality Performance Cattle.
Selected for their conformation, temperament and horns, our cows are
crossed on registered
Corriente bulls that carry the bloodlines of today’s top producing
champions.
Raised in big open pastures, our calves are fast and sure footed.
All doctoring and gathering is done on horseback,
introducing the
calves at an early age to horses.
They receive all necessary calf-hood vaccinations and worming.
At weaning, they are placed on a carefully mandated diet, allowing
for maximum horn growth.
The end result is a healthy calf, ready to rope by 10-12 months of
age.
At this point the steers are offered for sale, lease, or special
events.
In the fall, after roping season, the steers are placed in a feedlot
and fed an all natural diet.
They are ready for slaughter at 22 months of age. A percentage of
our steers will grade
Prime,
and all will grade Choice.
Our heifers are all Bangs vaccinated and bred as yearlings for sale
in the fall.
They are predominately solid colored, excellent conformation and of
gentle temperament.
